The Architectural Process

We work with clients from feasibility to completion, guiding you through all stages of the building project.

In all projects there are four clearly defined phases with incremental steps within that take us from getting to know our clients, right through to the final sign off of the building.

We are often involved in all four phases, but sometimes it depends on the project whether that is required, and we may not need to be involved in all phases.

Follow along below as an outline of our typical architectural process for our projects.

Our Technology

With a passion for delivery, we undertake projects using the latest technology.

Within our studio we utilise up to date hardware and software to enable an efficient, adaptable, and collaborative project environment.

Our office is 100% Cloud based and paperless, making the most of international cloud-based processing, remote access, record keeping and video conferencing which has become critical to today's digital and physical worlds.

Autodesk Construction Cloud is the backbone of our digital toolset enabling us flawless coordination between other ACC users such as engineers and MEP specialists.

This is a benefit that enables pre-construction discussions not previously possible, reducing on-site issues and re-work.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) have become common place within construction.

BIM on its own streamlines the complexities of projects giving us an opportunity to collaborate meaningfully with engineers, developers, and builders in an easy to understand and easy to navigate virtual way.

CAM is becoming the industry standard for efficient manufacture of buildings and components reducing the build times and clashes onsite to nearly impossible. We share our building information to contractors such as earthworks operators, pre-cast panel manufacturers, steel fabricators and MEP installers. They enable their robotic shop tools to create set outs, cutting lists and manufactured parts so they fit first time.

We proactively develop our digital tools inhouse to continually evolve with available technologies.

Sustainability / Regeneration

At the least we need to sustain our environment with responsive designs. Ideally our design can contribute regenerative outcomes.

As designers, we have the opportunity to guide clients realistically through the process of evaluating the impact their project may have on our environment and aid in promoting a better future.

Buildings are vital in the creation of communities that are sustainable not just to the environment but contribute socially and economically as well.

Carbon neutrality is increasingly the target for all of society, and the pressure is only increasing over time. However, this does not automatically mean that achieving a rating, or stars, or credentials is the best outcome for the environment or the project. Through our research and critical thinking we understand that and can apply appropriate principals at appropriate times.

We are well versed in the adoption of advanced timber structures, transportable buildings, Cross Laminate Timber, Pre-cast construction, prefabrication and using high-efficiency services. In the future we hope to be as well versed in 3D printing and other technologies as they arise.

Sustainability alongside the use of technology is fundamental to our design and process.

As a result our designs will inherently be responsive to the sun, wind, topography, view, and scale to ensure a low carbon, and energy efficient building whilst addressing our client requirements for functional use.

Much like the rest of the world we continue to stay informed through regular education and training.
